Seattle is Surrounded by mountains and vast bodies of water. It is surely one of the most picturesque cities in the United States. It dazzles even virtual tourists, thanks to the magic of QuickTime virtual reality and the over 700 panoramas of nearly every nook and cranny of the greater Seattle area at vrseattle.com. Visit well-known city landmarks, including the Space Needle, Pioneer Square, and the Pike Place Market. Poke around the back roads to explore out-of-the-way beaches and parks, or visit the very first Dick's Drive-In located in the Pacific Inn Pub's Wallingford neighborhood. A little bit of Seattle history is found in every corner, as you brouse this virtual Seattle landscape.

It may not always sunny here in the Great Northwest. But that doesn't stop us from jumping into a nice warm hot tub and enjoy a relaxing soak while the gentle Seattle rain makes the grass and the evergreens grow. Do you want to learn more about the Pacific Northwest? There are lots of great stuff at the North West Source web site. Also, keep up to date on the news from Seattle and the local arts and events by reading Seattle's local newspapers like the Seattle Weekly or the Seattle Times.

The Pacific Inn Pub is located in beautifully sunny Seattle between the Fremont and Wallingford neighborhoods just a few blocks north of Lake Union on Stone Way and 35th. Stop by and try the best Fish & Chips in Seattle!

When cold outside, and there is snow up in the mountains it's hard not to head for the slopes. Drop by the P.I. after your ski trip and enjoy our 10 beers on tap and great menu of delicious hamburgers to vegetarian garden burgers, salads and sandwiches. Can you year it? The call of the slopes! It's saying "wax up those skis and head to the mountains". Before your trip up to the slopes, take a look at the next generation online ski magazine ... the real skier's digital guide to fun and excess in memorable places. Their World Wide Web page, www.iski.com is expressly designed for today's internet echnology, with an eye toward coming advancements. It's the next best thing to being there! They place a high premium on editorial quality. THINK SNOW! Visit one of my favorite places, the Crystal Mountain resort. They have made a lot of improvements since they were acquired by Boyne USA and joined their family of ski resorts including Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands in Michigan, Brighton in Utah, and Big Sky in Montana.

You will find lots of fun things at the Pacific Inn, and before you head up to the slopes, the Pacific Northwest Ski Association can give you the latest ski race news. Also be sure to check out the current pass report of your other favorite ski recreational areas with the Cascade Ski Report. The latest conditions are available around 10:00 AM each day.

Here is a hot tip for your. If you can't wait to get back to the P.I. for a brew, They have a great bar at Alpental. One of my favorite skiing experiences was at the Stevens Pass ski resort. I have spent many hours there on my favorite ski runs. And from their web page, you can plan your skiing by downloading their trail map. You might say, it's a trip to Seventh Heaven .

Those who are looking for some winter vacation ideas, should visit the Whistler Resort web page and the Alpine World web page has some great ideas. Alpine World has Over 1000 pages of news and features! Also, in a state known for its rugged natural beauty, Timberline Lodge is a fitting monument to the pioneer spirit and makes a wonderful winter get-away. Solidly perched at the 6,000 foot level of snow-capped Mt. Hood, it is a masterpiece of Cascade architecture. You might not have the cash to be with the rich and famous, but at least you can visit the web page of the Aspen Snow mass, located in the heart of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. You can read the Aspen Times and feel like you are really there, soaking in the culture of Aspen.

For one of the best, check out SnoWeb It was recently featured in Newsweek and USA Today and is one of The of All ski Web Sites. It has received the Point Top 5% ski Web site awards. The SnoWeb pages receive over 30,000 hits a day from Internauts around the world. Be sure that after you have explored all the snowy places on the web. The Snoqualmie Summit is only an hours drive from the Pacific Inn Pub! And when you return from a great trip up to the mountains, come back to the Pacific Inn, say hello, and have a great tasting beer!

InfoSpace Seattle is very big into Infospace. I would bet that there are more internet service providers for each person in Seattle, than any other city in the US! With this wonderful diversity, Seattle enjoys a higher standard for quality and content. It is the Pacific Inn Pub's goal to help you Dive into Seattle, and help you explore the many interesting and informative web sites available! A shining example of this dedication to quality is the local Seattle chapter of the Webgrrls web developers team. They help to keep the standard for Seattle web pages high, and our topics interesting in content. And, by the way, a Seattle Webgrrl is any woman with a web site or a member of the this cool international networking group. They meet both online and in the real world. Nibble on this tasty example of one of the best designers on the Webgrrls web page development team. If you are looking for a web page consultant, the Seattle Webgrrls membership directory contains an index of all their dedicated web page designers, and many links to their web page innovations.

Seattle Web Grrls
Other places of local Seattle pride is the Infospace web directory. Move over Yahoo! This Redmond Washington based company has taken the concept of availability to online information, to the next level. Their distribution, integration, comprehensiveness, speed and accuracy, are the key differences between the rest of the web, and InfoSpace.

A visit to the suite101.com directory on Washington State, you would think, that is all they do. The depth of their content deserves placement as your home page. A nice collection of local news, and links to places to stay and lots of links to help you fully experience Washington. However, take some time to explore this site, and you will see the same degree of attention placed on their San Francisco web site. A visit to suite101 is a wild ride from posh, luxury travel to Seattle arts and culture. It is not just a travel site, but suite101.com is an amazing portal the internet.

Seattle pride is also clearly considered into every link found at Seattle.bizhost.com. Unlike infospace, this site is dedicated to promoting specifically Seattle based businesses, organizations, and culture. Here you will find pages of Seattle businesses like Elliot Bay Book Company. Lots of family activities, and Seattle landmark pages. Also several personal home pages of famous Seattle-ites like Mr Paul Allen. Seattle.bizhost.com also provides hosting options for small businesses just starting out on the Internet. Take pride in Seattle, and check them out!

Do you remember the Bubbleator? Ah... those were the days! When the coliseum was "World of Tomorrow land" and there was a sky ride which took you ride over the fountain from the international exhibit and into the world of tomorrow! Remember Bill Walton; when he was the Portland Trail Blazers organic "mountain man"? If any of these things bring up fond memories, do take a look at The True Northwest web page. Their web page is has many features and articles dedicated to "connecting the Northwest past with the Northwest present." The authors of this web page, Randy Hodgins and Steve McLellan, are a couple of "40-somethings", and are the authors of the book Seattle on Film. They got tired of being professional bureaucrats and decided to dedicate their writings to Northwest popular culture. From "Here Come the Brides" to celebrating Dick's and the Frisko Freeze, The True Northwest web page is a pretty good read.

For those who are transportationally challenged, or if you just don't want to deal with the Seattle traffic, the bus stops just right outside our front door! While you are in the neighborhood, be sure to check out Fremont's outfitter of popular culture, Archie McPhee's. They are just right across the street. The transportationally challenged "out-of-towners", should visit to the TravelNow web page! Whether you are searching for city entertainment guides, alternative travel pages, or anything that can be remotely related to travel and entertainment, you will find it at the TravelNow InfoCenter. Just a few blocks away from the Pacific Inn is Seattle's famous floating city. And while you are in the area, stop by and gossip with Sheri's Houseboat web page, and her really cool, rain city Tacky Postcards! I'm sure I have seen some of these postcards at the famous Fremont flea market! Say hello from me, and have a cup of tea while you check out whats happening with the Seattle water logged floating houseboat scene in lovely RainCity, USA. A labor of love, but I have made it a mission to visit every micro brew listed on Rain city's list of Washington Micro brewerys. Oh, and speaking of the water logged set. One of my favorite Seattle spots is the Seattle Aquarium. A Seattle, "must see"! Finally, speaking of a great view, try out the Space Needle Cam. The Space Needle is an integral part and timeless symbol of the Seattle's skyline. Built in 1962 for the Seattle World's Fair, its space-age architecture has been the welcoming beacon for visitors and local residents alike.

Do you think we should really go to Mars?  Do you support a human mission to Mars in the near term rather than the long term?  If YES, then the people at http://thinkmars.net would like to hear from you. They are currently working on a Mars Petition which they hope to have signed up 1 million people by the 2000 election. The concept came from Daniel Kliman, a high school senior from Santa Barbara, California, and is "aimed at generating the massive public support needed for a NASA manned landing on the surface of Mars."  The petition is brief and to the point, but clearly "this is the new vision of Mars for the World."

Imagine yourself in 1935. The country is in an economic depression. Mass production is prevalent. Cars are mostly black and utilitarian. Row houses are appearing everywhere. Suddenly, out of this malaise enters a shimmering view of the future. A ship that looks as though she sailed her way out of a Buck Rogers comic strip. A sleek, silvery bird shining in the summer sun. The ferry Kalakala was born. Her name chosen, like other ferries in the fleet, from an Indian name. 'Kalakala' (pronounced Ka-LOCK-ah-la), in Chinook, means 'flying bird', from the sound that they make in flight. Take a look at the the Kalakala Foundation web site!

It's always boating season in the Great Northwest! It is a wonderful playground of destinations for the boating enthusiast. Before you unfurl your sails or start your engines, get up-to-the-minute tidal information, weather conditions, and descriptions of destinations. See the beautiful aerial and sea-level photographs from the Pacific Northwest boating destination guide. Their goal is to provide boaters with detailed information, pictures and charts of every cove, inlet, and marina in the greater Puget Sound area.

Did you see on the evening news the other night all those really cool images of galaxies and stars? Well here it is, directly from the source. The NASA Hubbell Space center. Get the lastest photos of the universe taken from the Hubbell space telescope! On a topic more down to earth, be sure to visit the Northwest BrewPage. This site has some of the best information in the northwest on pubs, brew pubs, and breweries of the Pacific Northwest.
